The National and University Library in Zagreb has invited all libraries interested in taking part of the event this year to register their programmes between March 9 - 27 on the library's web site.
The aim of Book Night is to motivate reading, literature debates and raise awareness of the importance of books and authors' copyrights.
The event takes place from 6 pm to 1 am around Croatia in libraries, book shops, schools and other premises with public readings, book promotions, meeting authors, workshops and more.
This year's focus will be an exhibition of photographs inspired by the topic of reading. The exhibition will open on Book Night and will travel the country after that.
Last year's Book Night was held in 158 towns with more than 370 libraries, reading rooms and so on taking part in more than 700 organised programmes.
The organisers of the Croatian Book Night have said that they were please with the results achieved as the event has crossed the borders to neighbouring countries and this year Book Night will be held in Slovenia and Montenegro too for the first time.
