The Slovenian media also underscored the arrival of Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic at the inauguration ceremony in Zagreb.
The Ljubljana-based media commented on the impact of Croatia-Serbia relations on stability in the region, and informed that Vucic would pay an official visit to Slovenia on Friday.
The Delo daily said that "in Zagreb Vucic did not hide his optimistic expectations of the future relations with the neighbours".
The daily added that Slovenia's President Borut Pahor, who also attended Grabar-Kitarovic's inauguration, was pleased with what he heard in her inaugural address.
Borut Suklje, a Slovenian political analyst, was quoted as saying that the Zagreb ceremony was nice and the messages of the new Croatian president were middle-of-the-road and rational, and he also hailed the decision of the Serbian government to send Vucic to the ceremony.
The Dnevnik daily carried an extensive article about Grabar-Kitarovic's political career and said that the new president announced a more active role in everyday politics than the one played by her predecessor (Ivo Josipovic), "although the presidential position in Croatia, like in Slovenia, is more or less ceremonial".
