The survey includes data on daily tickets for adult passengers using public transportation in some of the 28 EU member-states and in Norway and Switzerland. Ljubljana, Bratislava, Tallin, Riga, Vilnius, Helsinki and Luxembourg were not included.
The daily ticket in Zagreb costs 4 euros, the same as in Athens or Prague, the newspaper said.
The public transportation fare in Budapest is somewhat higher, 5 euros. The Bulgarian capital of Sofia is the cheapest with 2 euros, Warsaw follows with 3.5 euros and Bucharest with 3.6 euros.
The Danish capital of Copenhagen is most expensive with 17 euros, while Stockholm's daily ticket costs 12 euros.
The average daily ticket for public transportation in Europe is 7.2 euros.
