The HZMO had 1.4 million insurees and 1.19 million beneficiaries at the end of last year, its manager, Srecko Vukovic, said, adding that the fall in the number of insurees and growth in that of beneficiaries continued.
There were about 49,000 new pensioners last year, up 2.74 percent from 2012.
Vukovic said the HZMO's revenues were HRK 36.59 billion and expenditures HRK 36.6 billion.
Last year pensions were indexed twice by 2.26% in total and the share of pension expenditures in GDP rose to 11%.
Over the past two and a half years, the HZMO downsized its staff by nearly 10% to 2,947 at the end of last year.
