NATO's new Secretary General, Mark Rutte, visited the Croatian Delegation as part of his efforts to meet with delegations from all member states. Croatia was the first on the list because its ambassador, Mario Nobilo, is the doyen of the diplomatic corps at NATO.
Nobilo presented Rutte with the Vučedol Dove, a symbol of the city of Vukovar.
“We are proud to have hosted the Secretary General and introduced him to our team at the start of his term. This visit coincided with Remembrance Day, when we lowered our flag to half-mast in honour of the victims and heroes of the Homeland War,” Croatia's Permanent Delegation to NATO said on X.
