According to Jelena Toth, Director of the Tourist Office of the Varaždin Tourist Board, the budget for this year's festival is approximately €850,000. As this is the first Špancirfest organised since Varaždin was awarded the title of UNESCO City of Music last year, the first and only city in Croatia to receive this honour, music has been the central theme in organising the festival.
The headliner of Špancirfest is Baby Lasagna, who will perform on the main stage beneath the Old Town walls on Tuesday at 9 PM. Other performers on that stage include Goran Bare and Majke, M.O.R.T., Savršeni marginalci, Tony Cetinski, and for tonight's festival opening at 9 PM, Prljavo kazalište. On the final day of Špancirfest, Psihomodo Pop will close the event.
