ZAGREB, 1 Aug (Hina) - Dalmatian Honey has become the 51st Croatian product to be entered in the EU register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced on Thursday.
The European Commission published this information in the Official Journal of the European Union on 1 August, the Ministry said on its website.
The EU's indication of Protected Designation of Origin on packaging guarantees the authenticity of the product concerned.
Dalmatian honey is produced by colonies of grey bees from the nectar of sage, bramble, heather, mandarin, and honeydew that appears on the Montpellier maple and other deciduous species that grow in Dalmatia.
