The Pula Film Festival represents the annual overview of Croatian feature-length films and the place where the most significant film awards are given, the festival's artistic director Danijel Pek said, adding that "the sight of a full Arena is one of the most beautiful scenes any filmmaker can experience."
Culture and Media Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek told reporters she was proud of the festival and happy that it showed that "regardless of the format inherited and maintained for more than seven decades, today it can be extremely interesting and attract new audiences with its content."
"Pula is our Croatian film gathering place, the place of greatest excitement for film artists, and a place where we not only want to showcase the latest Croatian productions but also build this festival as a meeting point for all film professionals and the starting point for film distribution," the minister said, adding that the audience recognises a good film and knows how to reward it.
That is why, she said, the Culture and Media Ministry will continue to invest in the digitalisation and equipping of cinemas across Croatia.
