Sinovčić secured the silver with a time of 1:16.82, while the new European champion is Russian Aleksey Ganiuk with a new European record of 1:13.47. The bronze went to Thijs van Hofweegen from the Netherlands with a time of 1:18.39.
This marks Sinovčić's fourth medal at European Championships, his second silver after finishing second in May 2021, also in Madeira. He also has the European gold from Dublin (2018) and bronze from Reykjavik (2009). At the World Championships, he has won three medals - two golds (2019, 2022) and one silver (2023), while at the last Paralympic Games in Tokyo, he finished third.
