According to the data provided by the national statistical office (DZS) on Friday, this November compared to the same month of the previous year, "the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 7.3%, which is the greatest increase in turnover since October 2021, when that increase was 8.7%."
"Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food products, beverages and tobacco increased by 2.1%, while the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except of automotive fuels and lubricants) increased by 13.3%."
Month on month
"In November 2023, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted deflated retail trade turnover of all business entities engaged in this activity, irrespective of their main activity, was in real terms 1.2% higher than in October 2023."
"Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food products decreased by 2.7%, while the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except of automotive fuels and lubricants) increased by 5.0%."
Consumption major element of GDP
In Q3, GDP growth was mostly impacted by a continued growth of household spending, and robust rise of retail trade in November also hints at the steady growth of the economy in Q4.
In Q3 this year, Croatia's economy expanded at the rate of 2.8% year on year, rising for 11 quarters.
