The increase in the total value is a result of an increase in the average prices of products in almost all types of fisheries and aquaculture, says the DZS.
The total value of maritime fishing in 2022 reached HRK 1.7 billion, up by 10.5% from 2021.
The total catches and production of sea fish and other sea organisms increased by about 672 tonnes, that is, by 0.8%, in 2022 year on year.
The total production of freshwater fish in 2022 decreased by 32 tonnes (0.8%).
The total number of fishermen engaged in maritime fishing in 2022 decreased by 0.8% compared to 2021, while the total number of vessels decreased by 3.3% to 7,501 fishing boats.
