The hospital director, Tihomir Vančina, said that the UPMC is one of the most distinguished international health institutions.
We will become a member of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network, and this gives us opportunities to work with the prominent providers of health services, said Vančina.
In attendance at today's ceremony in Zabok was the chairman of the UPMC International, Charles Bogosta, who said that the Zabok facility would be the 77th centre of this network.
He said that cooperation had been initiated by Croatian professor and doctor Dragan Primorac.
Representatives of local authorities, including the new Economy Minister Damir Habijan and County Prefect Željko Kolar, welcomed this project.
