The anniversaries are 30 years since the formation of Croatian counties, 20 years since the foundation of the Croatian County Association and ten years since Croatia joined the EU, said Nikola Dobroslavić, head of the Croatian delegation in the Committee.
Numerous guests, including European Commission Vice President Dubravka Šuica, Croatia's permanent representative to the EU, Irena Andrassy, Croatian MEPs and representatives of European regions, could see 21 photos with recognisable motifs of each of Croatia's 21 counties.
Croatian County Association president Danijel Marušić thanked the European Committee of the Regions for the opportunity to "show a little part of our small but beautiful country."
For eight years, the Association has been organising a photo contest for amateur and professional photographers with the goal to promote the specificities of all Croatian counties.
