This edition of the RoboCupJunior, a division of the RoboCup Federation that aims to promote robotics and artificial intelligence in primary and secondary schools, has brought together about 730 participants from 18 countries.
Of those 730 participants, 507 are competitors, that is children aged between 5 and 19, and 233 are mentors.
RoboCupJunior competitions are divided into three leagues: Soccer, Rescue and OnStage.
Croatia is being represented by 29 teams.
The European RoboCupJunior Championship (EURCJ) is a new super-regional RoboCup event that has the objective of organizing RoboCupJunior competitions at European level. It is organized yearly in different European countries.
EURCJ Croatia 2023 is the fourth edition of EURCJ and is organized by the Croatian RoboCupJunior Committee and the Croatian Robotic Society, in collaboration with other European RoboCupJunior regional committees.
The head of the Croatian Robotic Society, Darko Pongrac, said that the hosting of the competition is also an act of recognition of the work of Croatian roboticists.
