The first six months of 2022 were considered for the membership of Europa Cinemas, and it was necessary to meet the criterion of a minimum of 37% of European films in the repertoire, 70% of which have to be premières. In that period, 52% of screenings at Kinoteka were European films, 81% of which were premières.
The second criterion was related to minimum attendance, and to become members, cinemas must have at least 7,500 visitors, while Kinoteka had about 8,500 visitors.
I'm happy that our work has been recognised by this umbrella cinema association, but also by our loyal visitors, without whom this success would not be possible, said Maja Jurić Ivoš, director of the August Cesarec Centre for Culture and Film, which has been managing the cinema since 2017.
