Slavonski Brod is one of the venues of the programme that is being implemented from 8 April to 30 June by the Arterarij association, Centre for Peace Studies and the Roma youth organisation.
Locals were able to see a play entitled "LOOKATME" by Romana Nikolić.
Equality Week will also be held in Zagreb, Rijeka, Kutina, Čakovec and Beli Manastir alongside an online campaign #ProBudiJednakost (WakeUpToEquality).
"In Slavonski Brod-Posavina County, 75% of the Roma community assess public encounters and relations as good or very good. We consider that to be an encouraging data," said Sandra Kasunić, the head of the Arise Roma project and Equality Week is being held as part of that project.
Kasunić added that a high percentage of positive assessments on accepting the Roma in the community has been an inspiration for the organiser's of this programme in an effort to further improve that situation.
As part of the programme, locals will be able to attend an audiovisual exhibition "One day life will be beautiful" in the local library until 8 May.
