"In a year, every fifth Roma... experiences discrimination. Thus, the aim of the Weeks of Equality and the #ProBudiJednakost campaign is to acquaint citizens with different forms and manifestations of discrimination and socio-economic inequalities faced daily by members of the Roma minority in Croatia," the Centre for Peace Studies said last Thursday.
In addition, we want to create opportunities for members of the Roma minority to present their experiences and personal stories, the NGO added.
"Weeks of Equality" will start in Zagreb on the 50th International Romani Day on 8 April. The programme includes the audio-visual exhibition "One Day Life Will Be Nice", the show POGLEDAJME (Look at me), interventions in public and digital space, cooperation with the media, and informational and educational meetings with the Roma communities, organised in cooperation with the Office of the Public Ombudswoman.
The #ProBudiJednakost campaign will cover the events on social media networks.
