Home prices in 2020 up 7.7% from 2019

ZAGREB, 13 April (Hina) - Home prices in Croatia in 2020 were 7.7% higher than in 2019, with prices of new homes going up 1.2% and prices of previously owned homes rising by 8.5%, show data from the national statistical office (DZS), based on the value of property transactions.

The growth of residential property prices, which has been present since 2016, thus continued in 2020 as well, but it slowed down compared to 2019, when home prices grew 9% from 2018.

Residential property prices in Zagreb in 2020 were 8.5% higher on average than in 2019, on the coast they were 6.3% higher and in other parts of the country they were 10% higher than in 2019.

Measured by the house price index, residential property prices in Q4 2020 were 6.4% higher on average than in Q4 2019.

Year-on-year, home prices in Zagreb were 5.9% up, on the coast they were 6% higher and in other parts of the country they were 8.9% higher.

In Q4 2020 home prices were 2.5% higher on average than in Q3 2020.

Prices of new homes dropped by 2% while prices of previously owned homes went up 3.1%.

In Q4 2020 home prices in Zagreb were 3.1% up from Q3, they were 0.6% higher on the coast and in other parts of the country they were 5.4% higher than in Q3.
