Lepoglava Mayor Marijan Skvaric said that the city had postponed some other events but the central event, the International Lace Festival, would take place in a different format.
Festival participants have sent in about 20 video recordings showcasing their lace, and these will be presented over Internet and social networks, said Skvaric.
In addition to the videos, visitors will be able to see lace live in the Lepoglava monastery every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, with adherence to epidemiological measures.
"The exhibition will feature everything we have been collecting over the 23 years of the lace festival -- dresses, jewellery, ceramics, a lace tent. This year, 'thanks to' the coronavirus, for the first time we have received the opportunity to showcase everything that we have been tirelessly collecting to be presented at this exhibition," head of the Lepoglava Tourism Board Office, Ljubica Dubovcek said.
