ZAGREB, April 25 (Hina) - Seven new coronavirus infection cases have been diagnosed in Croatia in the last 24 hours and three more people have died, the country's coronavirus crisis management team told a regular press conference on Saturday.

The total number of COVID-19 infection cases in Croatia now stands at 2,016, Health Minister Vili Beros said.

Three people have died: a woman born in 1922 died in the Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Zagreb, a man born in 1930 died in the Clinical Hospital Centre in Split and a man born in 1952 died in the Dubrava hospital in Zagreb. All three were chronic patients, Beros said.

The Croatian coronavirus death toll now stands at 54, he added.

The minister said that 30,913 tests had been carried out to date, including 700 on Friday, and 6.52% were positive.

A total of 316 infected patients are currently in hospitals, nine fewer than on Friday, and 21 of them are on ventilators. In the last 24 hours, 13 patients have been discharged from hospitals and 39 have recovered at home, bringing the total number of the people recovered to 1,034.

"Our success is not accidental. It is the result of our joint thinking and discipline. Our view is that we should not change the recipe that is giving good results. That's why we should remain prudent and continue to respect the need to maintain physical distancing, hygiene and the cleanliness and disinfection of the space that we occupy," the health minister said.
