Many people opened their windows and balconies even before 8 pm, singing "My Homeland" and giving thunderous rounds of applause for all civil protection staff, police, military personnel and all others involved in the emergency efforts.
"My Homeland" was recorded as a charity single by Croatian Band Aid at the start of the Homeland War in 1991 and often played as a morale booster for soldiers and for civilians in bomb shelters.
