This was the first time in history that the European Parliament voted by e-mail. It voted on three European Commission proposals.
The first, the Corona Response Investment Initiative, is worth €37 billion, of which €1.158 billion is intended for Croatia. These are unused funds allocated to member states for the pre-financing of structural fund projects which they would otherwise have to pay back into the European budget but can now keep to ensure better liquidity for national budgets.
The second proposal approved was an extension of the EU Solidarity Fund to cover public health emergencies, and the third was a proposal to temporarily suspend EU rules on airport slots.
