A total of HRK 2.8 million was spent on the implementation of the project of moving the Buzet town library into the new 280-square-metre compounds. The Culture Ministry allocated HRK 1.5 million for that purpose and the town authorities covered the remaining costs of HRK 1.3 million kuna.
Mayor Sinisa Zulic said that the reconfiguration of the library was one of a dozen projects over the past two years aimed at revitalising the cultural heritage in this Istrian town with some 6,000 residents. Zilic said that HRK 17.5 million had been allocated for cultural programmes in that period.
The library, which was established in 1888, currently has over 500 members and possesses over 30,000 books.
