HNB releases information on official trips

ZAGREB, March 14 (Hina) - Last year Croatian National Bank (HNB) officials went on 131 official trips, which cost the central bank about HRK 1.14 million, and HNB Governor Boris Vujcic and his deputies were paid about HRK 127,500 in travel expenses, a report released by the bank on Tuesday shows.

The central bank released data on official trips made by bank officials from 2012 until January this year.

"Motivated by the interest of the public in the cost of official trips by HNB officials, we are publishing information about these trips from 2012 to January 2017, including information on the title, location and organiser of business events which were the purpose of official trips, the status of participating HNB officials, the costs of accommodation and transport, and information on daily allowances," the HNB said.

Last year alone, the governor went on 51 official trips and received HRK 52,600 in daily allowances.

If transport and accommodation costs, of HRK 313,500 and HRK 111,000 respectively, are included, the governor's costs of official trips amounted to a total of HRK 477,100.

The governor usually starts the year off with official trips to Basel (a regular bi-monthly meeting of governors from member states of the Bank for International Settlements), Kitzbuehel (a winter conference of emerging markets in Europe) and Vienna (a Euromoney forum of central and eastern European countries).
