Rudine wind farm put into full operation mode

ZAGREB, April 26 (Hina) - The Rudine wind farm, worth HRK 400 million, was put in full operation on Tuesday outside Slano near the southern Adriatic city of Dubrovnik.

The installed capacity of the wind farm is 34.2 megawatt-hours, and the annual production is expected to reach 85 GWh, which can cover the needs of about 20,000 households, or the city the size of Dubrovnik.

The 34.2 MWh wind park is located on the Adriatic coast near the town of Slano, 32 kilometers northwest of Dubrovnik. It ups Croatia’s supply of wind power by more than 10 percent, thus further reducing the country’s carbon footprint.

By putting the wind farm in full operating mode, which has been on a test run since January, Croatia's wind power supply capacities increased by more than 10%, the investor RP Global said.

RP Global Management Board President Gerhard Matzinger stressed the Rudine wind farm has been adjusted to the highest environmental standards and demanding legal frameworks.

Rudine is RP Global’s second wind farm in Croatia. The project started construction in 2014, finished construction in 2015 and was commissioned in early 2016, making it one of RP Global's most recently finished wind power projects.
