Judging by increasing interest shown by visitors at the show held on 10-12 February, the Fuji Trading distributor announced an increase in the import of Croatian wines and has arranged a tour of Croatian wineries for Japanese wholesale buyers in September.
According to Belje's press release, there is huge potential for Croatian wine-makers on the Japanese market with nearly 130 million inhabitants.
Annually, 364 million litres of wine are consumed in Japan and this alcoholic beverage is mainly imported from Europe.
The project of the promotion of Croatian wines in Japan is financed by the wine envelope, a measure for the promotion of wines on third markets from the national programme for the wine industry and viticulture in the 2014-2018 period.
