The president of the HGK's Croatian Hauliers' Association, Darko Vukadonovic, welcomed a possible introduction of highway vignettes, announced by Maritime and Transport Minister Oleg Butkovic.
Vukadinovic said Croatian hauliers were directly interested in the introduction of this form of road tolls which would bring them a lot of benefits and increase their competitiveness. He is confident that a thorough analysis of cargo transport in Croatia would lead to applicable conclusions and guidelines about the current state of this profession and the projection of trends in the coming medium-term period.
The director of the HGK's transport and communications department, Ljubica Herceg, said the introduction of vignettes was a quality proposal which would bring multiple benefits to both the motorway systems in Croatia and to its users. She however added that discounts should be given annual vignettes for constant users, Croatian citizens and professional hauliers.
