The commemorations started on Tuesday morning in front of a monument commemorating the victims of the atrocity, with the victims' families, government officials, and representatives of the police and army and war veterans' and victims' associations attending.
As in previous years, this year, too, numerous visitors, including war veterans from all over Croatia, came to Skabrnja to attend the commemorations.
The commemorative events were expected to continue with a religious service at the local church, the central commemoration in the main square, and a memorial walk to the local cemetery.
