Representatives of the Chinese media will visit several cultural heritage sites and national parks in Croatia to bring the country closer to Chinese tourists, the HTZ said on Thursday.
During a week-long stay, Chinese journalists are scheduled to visit Zagreb, Kumrovec (the birthplace of Yugoslav communist leader Josip Broz Tito), Brijuni National Park, Istria, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Split and Dubrovnik. It will also be a chance to present to Chinese journalists "Croatia 365", a new project aimed at extending the tourist season.
According to the HTZ, Chinese tourists generated 30 percent more arrivals and 26 percent more overnight stays in 2013 compared with 2012. The first nine months of 2014 saw a 36 percent rise in their arrivals and 35 percent more overnight stays than at the same time last year.
