"Croatia 365" project presented to British tour operators

ZAGREB, Oct 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) presented the "Croatia 365" project to British tour operators and media in London on Tuesday evening with the aim of promoting Croatia as an attractive tourist destination all year round, the Tourism Ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

The presentation at the Queen's Club was attended by over a hundred guests who were greeted by HTZ Director Ratomir Ivicic. Among those attending were Croatian Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin, Assistant Minister Davor Izakovic, Ambassador Ivan Grdesic and the Director of the HTZ's UK Office, Tonko Rilovic.

Croatia was presented as an excellent destination, only two hours away by plane from London, where British tourists could spend their leisure time throughout the year. The HTZ said that its numerous activities included its partnership on the BBC's recently launched website BBC Earth.

"This project is based on the synergy of all stakeholders in tourism and the entire tourism sector. British tourists come to Croatia in large numbers every year and thus become our best ambassadors. To visit Croatia means to experience Croatia and be part of something special," Ivicic said.

Four destinations were presented - the eastern regions of Slavonia and Baranja, the southern peninsula of Peljesac and island of Korcula, Dubrovnik, and Northwestern Istria, with emphasis on their cultural heritage, local cuisine and wines, and recreation possibilities.
