No one was injured by the hand grenade explosion in the ethnically mixed neighbourhood of Bosnjacka Mahala and the damage is negligible, but the incident additionally unsettled citizens, local media reported.
According to available information, the hand grenade was thrown at an abandoned house, several hundred metres from a bridge across the Ibar river which connects north Kosovska Mitrovica, populated mainly by Serbs, and its southern part, dominated by Albanians.
EULEX members and Kosovo police investigated the scene and there is no information as yet about the motives or perpetrators.
