EP's information office in Croatia presented

ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - The European Parliament's information office in Croatia, which will become fully operational with Croatia's accession to the European Union on July 1, on Friday held a presentation for the press which will refer to it for information on the EP's work.

Such an office exists in every member country and some have two - Germany, France, Poland and Spain.

The Croatian office was opened on February 18, said its chief Violeta Simeonova Stanicic, who previously headed the EP office in Bulgaria.

On July 1, the office will relocate to bigger premises in Zagreb, with an open public area. It will be aimed at the public and organise various public events as well as help journalists by organising trips to and seminars in Strasbourg and Brussels.

The office will also intensively cooperate with nongovernmental organisations as well as be aimed at young people.

For now, the office has a Facebook page. Upon Croatia's EU accession, a Croatian-language website will be activated.
