Croatian parliament speaker says Croatia's EU entry in Bosnia's interest

MOSTAR, March 21 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko said in Mostar on Thursday that Croatia's upcoming accession to the European Union would be in the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnian Croats.

"That means that Croatia will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina's interests in the best possible way," Leko said in response to questions from the press while visiting a Franciscan monastery. He added that Bosnian Croats would equally benefit from Croatia's EU entry.

Praising the Franciscans' work, he said the monastery indicated that "the future of the Croat people in Bosnia and Herzegovina is based on values. I hope this will also contribute to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a state which should be in Europe and enjoy the values on which Europe rests."
