Pusic expects Croatia, Slovenia to reach agreement in time

ZAGREB, Feb 21 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic said on Thursday she expected a Croatian-Slovenian agreement on the Ljubljanska Banka issue to be reached in time, regardless of the political turmoil in Slovenia which she would not comment on.

Asked by the press if the unstable political situation in Slovenia could bring the agreement into question, Pusic said everything would be fine.

"We first have to finalise it (agreement). I hope it will all be done in time and I think (Slovenia's) ratification (of Croatia's EU accession treaty) won't be the last one. And we can't in any way become involved in this internal turmoil and internal situation (in Slovenia)."

Asked if this meant that Prime Ministers Zoran Milanovic of Croatia and Janez Jansa of Slovenia could reach a political agreement on March 10, after which the document would be initialled, Pusic said, "This is the job of the two prime ministers and they will certainly finalise it and make a final agreement and I hope an agreement is possible. That depends on them to a great extent."
