This annual event is held on the second-to-last Friday every January.
The museum-hopping night kicked off at 6 p.m. and ended at 1 a.m., its symbolic beginning being the opening of the first phase of the Vukovar City Museum's permanent collection.
Admission to museums, galleries and archives and other institutions offered additional entertainment programmes, such as concerts, film screenings, meetings with artists, plays or workshops and other events.
The first stop of Croatian President Ivo Josipovic was the Art Pavilion in Zagreb where he saw the exhibition "The Prague Four." He visited several more museums.
The first Museum Night was held in six museums in Zagreb in 2005. Last year's event saw 325,000 visitors flocking to 180 locations in 80 towns.
