favourable atmosphere, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said in Doha on Wednesday at the start of his tour of three Arab nations.
DOHA/ZAGREB, March 17 (Hina) - Croatian companies are well-known in
Arab countries with which Croatia wants to strengthen and develop
economic relations, and potential investors in Croatia will encounter
numerous possibilities and a favourable atmosphere, Croatian President
Stjepan Mesic said in Doha on Wednesday at the start of his tour of
three Arab nations.#L#
Mesic, who is being accompanied by a delegation of prominent Croatian
business people, is also scheduled to visit Syria and Jordan.
"Croatian firms are traditionally present and well-known in Arab
countries. Our interest is to use this friendship to open the door to
economic cooperation," Mesic told a Croatian-Qatari economic forum.
Qatar, the third richest country in the world in natural gas
resources, is interested in building a liquefied gas terminal in
Croatia.
Mesic held talks with his host, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin
Khalifa Al-Thani, and visited the University Centre and the
departments of two US universities, Cornell University and the
University of Texas.
Also on Wednesday, Croatia and Qatar signed an agreement on
cooperation in civil aviation, a memorandum of understanding and an
agreement to establish a joint business council.
