Minister Pusic, who was on Wednesday attending a NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels, was asked by reporters to comment on recent statements by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa about a possible early election to be held in May or June which, as he said, could impact the ratification of the treaty in Slovenia's parliament.
"I cannot say whether the parliamentary elections will be held but in any case I hope that the treaty will be ratified by then, and that our two financial experts should meet once more before Christmas and I expect that they will come up with a recommendation that should be acceptable to both sides which should separate it from the ratification process", Minister Pusic said.
Asked whether she was personally involved in arranging a meeting between Croatian PM Zoran Milanovic with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic considering the tension between the two countries in the wake of the ICTY acquittal of generals Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac, she said that "it is not on the agenda now but the 'technical details' are usually conducted by the foreign affairs ministry. The first step following the verdict and subsequent reactions is a meeting on the fringe of an OSCE ministerial meeting on Thursday and Friday in Dublin", she said.
