The survey was based on two key indicators on the insurance market, relating to personal insurance and assets insurance (house, household items, car).
An average of 26% of citizens in the region had some personal insurance policy, while in Croatia that was 18%.
An average of 42% of households in the region had asset insurance policies whereas almost 75% of Croatian households had at least one type of assets insurance policy.
GfK notes though that this was mostly dominated by compulsory third party car insurance.
The results indicate that Croatia is ripe for the insurance business to grow and that most interest lies in life insurance amongst people up to 30 years of age.
