Labour Minister Mirando Mrsic said pensions would go up and arrive on time. "To this government, pensioners' standard is the last line of defence and it won't build the state's stability on pensioners, as was the case in recent years."
Mrsic announced the formation of a Pensioners National Council made up of the government and representatives of pensioners' associations. "It will be a place to discuss and decide everything the government does in the field of pension insurance and everything related to old age."
The festival was organised as part of events marking International Day of Older Persons, observed on October 1.
