Kosovo president extends condolences on Croatian parliament speaker's death

PRISTINA, Sept 30 (Hina) - Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga on Sunday sent a telegram of condolence to her Croatian counterpart Ivo Josipovic on the death of Croatian Parliament Speaker Boris Sprem, whom she described as "a man of high qualities and a big fighter for democracy."

Jahjaga said Sprem's death was "a big loss for Croatia, for parliamentarianism in his country," extending her condolences to his family as well.

Sprem, who suffered from multiple myeloma, died at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston early Sunday morning, Central European Time. He was 56.
