"I continue to think that the division of Kosovo is the only possible, realistic solution and I'm sure that the Albanians in Pristina would accept that. However, the question is how can this cause protests in the region, while avoiding the fact that upheavals have also been caused by the fact that Serbia is divided," Dacic told Pink TV.
He said there was no lasting solution and that political dialogue could certainly acknowledge the legitimate interests of Serbs and Albanians.
"What is acceptable at this stage is everything that isn't the acceptance of Kosovo's unilateral independence ... Brussels can't make us accept Kosovo's independence," Dacic said, recalling that five European Union countries have still not recognised Kosovo.
