Jansa doesn't expect changes in Serbia's foreign policy

LJUBLJANA, May 22 (Hina) - Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa said on Monday he did not expect significant changes in Serbia's foreign policy after Tomislav Nikolic's victory at a presidential election on Sunday.

"I don't expect significant changes because the EU remains the only real prospect for Serbia and other Western Balkan countries," Jansa told Slovenian reporters during a NATO summit in Chicago, adding that he had no reason not to believe Nikolic's announcements that Serbia would pursue its European path.

Jansa said Nikolic's election was perhaps significant for political relations in Serbia, adding that Serbia would continue its relations with the European Union.

"We don't count on significant changes regarding Serbia's pro-Europe orientation. Perhaps some steps will be accelerated," said Jansa.
