"The entire burden of price increases must not be shifted onto citizens alone, but also onto public companies that manage those resources," Grcic told reporters before a meeting of the main committee of his Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Grcic said he hoped the restructuring process would be accelerated, adding that he expected HEP and other public companies to start that process immediately.
The government decided on Friday to raise the price of electricity for households by 20% and that of natural gas by 22%. The price increases become effective as of May 1.
