Enterprise minister meets students in 'Learning for Entrepreneurship' project

ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - Entrepreneurship and Crafts Minister Gordan Maras on Wednesday met with students of Zagreb's August Cesarec Elementary School, one of four in Croatia participating in the European Union pilot project "Learning for Entrepreneurship".

Creating new values, being able to turn one's ideas into something useful and team work are some of the basics of entrepreneurship which students can learn, said the minister.

Responding to questions from the students, Maras said EU accession would have a positive impact on enterprise development, as the EU was a big market and entrepreneurs would have EU funds at their disposal.

When we join the EU it will be irrelevant if someone has a factory near Munich or Zagreb, so we must work on attracting investors and improving the investment climate, he said.

He added that the education system should be adjusted to labour market requirements, that all Croatian regions had a chance to develop and that a balanced regional development should be encouraged.

Asked by the press if he was pleased with vocational schools and the career offer on the market, Maras said vocational schools should work more on offering the professions that were in demand.
