Two Serbian government vehicles stoned in Pristina

PRISTINA/BELGRADE, April 5 (Hina) - Two Serbian government vehicles travelling in a convoy under police escort were stoned on their way back from a meeting with EU mission officials in Pristina on Thursday, media in Pristina and Belgrade said.

Kosovo police said in a statement that minor damage was done to the two cars, namely that their side windows were broken, but that none of the people in the vehicles was injured. Two persons were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the attack and one of the suspects was later released.

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic sent a note of protest to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, the head of the UN mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Farid Zarif, and the head of the EU rule of law mission (EULEX), Xavier Bout de Marnhac, demanding an urgent investigation.

The Serbian government said in a statement that a member of the Serbian delegation was slightly injured in the attack. It said that the delegation went to Kosovo to discuss the implementation of the agreements reached with Kosovo's government in EU-brokered negotiations.
