Figures showed that Bosnia and Herzegovina imported nearly a billion euros worth of goods in the first two months of 2012, of which imports from Croatia accounted for 14.4 per cent, or 290 million convertible marks (nearly 150 million euros). It was followed by Germany, whose exports to Bosnia reached 225 million convertible marks (118 million euros).
Germany, on the other hand, topped the list of the countries to which Bosnia exported its products. Bosnian exports to Germany totalled 198.7 million convertible marks (slightly over 100 million euros), or 18.4 per cent of the country's exports. Croatia was second with 13.1 per cent, or 141 million convertible marks (75 million euros).
Bosnia and Herzegovina reported a considerable trade deficit, given that the coverage of imports by exports was slightly below 60 per cent. The annual inflation rate in February was 2.4 per cent, compared to 1.4 per cent in Croatia and 4.9 per cent in Serbia.
