The fourth quarter of 2011 saw a 0.2 per cent decline year-on-year in mobile networks, with 1.5 billion minutes spent, and a 12.7 per cent decline in fixed networks, with 1.1 billion minutes spent.
Last year saw an increase in minutes spent on mobile networks both nationally and internationally, 3.5 and five per cent respectively, or six billion and 88 million respectively.
The number of text and multimedia messages declined on the annual level. Nearly three billion texts were sent in 2011, down 4.8 per cent on the year, and 23 million multimedia messages, down 3.7 per cent.
In fixed networks, 4.4 billion minutes were spent nationally and 148 million internationally, down 8.3 and 43.5 per cent.
