NEW YORK, Dec 3 (Hina) - On the occasion of today's report of the
UN Secretary General to the Security Council Pursuant to Security
Council Resolution 871 (1993) Croatian Ambassador to UN released a
Statement saying among other things:
"The Republic of Croatia is entitled to raise again the issue of
UNPROFOR's presence on the territory of the Republic of Croatia as
early as now. (...) Every intensifying of the Croatian Govt.'s
attitude in this moment would contradict President Tudjman's Peace
Initiative, which is akin to the Action Plan of the European Union
and the recent decisions of the CSCE Ministers' meeting that are
positive for Croatia."
"In the coming period one of the basic footholds of the political
activities of Croatia will be the conclusion of the CSCE meeting in
Rome, which states that the territories of the Republic of Croatia
under UNPROFOR's mandate should be peacefully reintegrated into the
political and legal system of Croatia. The most recent report by UN
Secretary General should be judged through the prism of that
statement," Nobilo Concludes.
