ZAGREB, Jan 18
(Hina) - After a group of legal and military experts
recently asked the Hague war crimes tribunal (ICTY) to be given amicus
curiae status in the case of Croatian generals Ante Gotovina and
Mladan Markac, attorney Vesna Alaburic told Hina on Wednesday the
tribunal's rules allowed individuals or institutions to appear as
amicus curiae also in appellate proceedings, while attorney Jadranka
Slokovic said there was no basis for that, but both agreed the
application could impact the verdict.
