IN ZAGREB
ZAGREB, Nov 27 (Hina) - Over a thousand Croatian displaced persons from
the temporarily occupied area of Slunj, Rakovica and Cetingrad (near the
Karlovac area) have arrived today from Karlovac in Zagreb in order to
participate in a protest rally in front of the UNPROFOR base in Zagreb
and later in front of the ICRC building in the Croatian capital. During
their rally in front of the UNPROFOR base they lighted candles and added
the names of the killed and missing persons from this area of Croatia on
the list of victims of the aggression against Croatia.
There are 13,000 persons who were expelled from the area of Slunj after
the Serb aggressors' occupation of this region, which happened on the
16th of November 1991. The displaced persons, former residents of the
Slunj area, are now accommodated all over Croatia awaiting to return to
their homes as soon as possible.
The aim of their rally in front of the UNPROFOR base in Zagreb is to
point out that UNPROFOR have not done their task so far, i.e. they have
not made it possible for the Croatian displaced persons to return to
their homes.
